The spring (vernal) equinox is also referred to as the March equinox. Equinox is Latin for "equal night" which refers to 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night (although realtiy suggests its not exactly). This March equinox marks the time where the sun crosses the equator from the southern to northern hemisphere. You might notice that in the March equinox, the sun will rise directly in the East and set directly in the West. 

With respect to real estate, the March equinox is typically the beginning of the busy season for buying and selling homes. Well, the first 60 days have come and gone in the 2017 edition of the Fort Saskatchewan real estate market. Currently, we have 203 listings in Fort Saskatchewan which includes both condos and single family homes. In the last 30 days, we've seen 81 new listings with only 31 sales. So, now might be a good time to be a buyer (almost 3 listings to each sale). Year to date, there have been 57 sales ranging from $95,000 to $634,000.
